Meet Dr. Stiles

Michael C. Stiles, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist and Medical Director at Stiles Eyecare Excellence.

Dr. Stiles has earned regional and national recognition as a leading provider of breakthrough treatments for cataracts and glaucoma. He is widely known among medical colleagues and patients as an ophthalmologist who is committed to bringing the latest and most advanced procedures to patients in the Greater Kansas City region. Dr. Stiles is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he completed his ophthalmology residency. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in anterior segment surgery and glaucoma at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Stiles started in group private practice in Kansas City in 1990 and formed his own solo practice in 2002. Growth of his practice prompted the August 2006 opening of Stiles Eyecare Excellence.

During the past two decades, he has participated in numerous clinical research initiatives and published nearly 70 articles and papers featured at national symposiums and in medical research journals. In line with staying in the forefront of eye care, he formed a research department within SEE, which participates in surgical device and pharmaceutical clinical studies. He has been actively involved in ophthalmology resident education at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he is Assistant Clinical Professor. Dr. Stiles and his wife, Michella Stiles, M.D., reside in Leawood, KS with their two daughters; Regan and Caterina. He enjoys cheering for his undergraduate alma mater, the University of Notre Dame, snow skiing, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
